Hearts Unlimited Privacy Policy
Introduction
Patricia Ritsema van Eck is the owner and founder of the company Hearts Unlimited, a small Dutch publishing house which specializes in creating and publishing digital media. All website publications and subscription services offered by Patricia and partners are managed by Hearts Unlimited.
Hearts Unlimited respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our Membership sites only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at Hearts Unlimited’s Membership sites.
Part I. Information Collection
Hearts Unlimited collects the following information from subscribers to any of our newsletters:
- First name
- Email address
- IP address
- optin date
This information is required to send out the mailings subscribers requested to receive. The IP address information and optin date are collected for the purpose of bein able to prove the subscriber opted in voluntarily from their own unique IP address in case of a dispute.
Hearts Unlimited collects information through our Membership sites at several points. We don’t collect information about primary visitors. We do collect the following information which is required for anyone who chooses to sign up for our membership sites:
- Login name
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Password
- IP address
- Browser type
- Computer operating system
We may also collect additional information from members of our membership sites which our members can use to find other members through our search services. All of this information is optional and each member has the choice as to what he or she wishes to share with other members.
Email addresses are never published either in the membership area or on public pages anywhere on our sites unless a member chooses to publish their address themselves!
Hearts Unlimited does not actively market to children, and we never knowingly ask a child under 13 to divulge personal information.
We collect this information through registration, information modification forms and ad submission forms. With exception of IP address, password, browser type and computer operating system all information is collected voluntarily. To receive our products and services, the information listed above is mandatory because we need to be able to contact our members and we need to be able to identify members who violate our terms of service so they can be banned from the site. Our rules are in place to ensure all members have a safe and satisfactory experience of using our membership services. Other information we request is optional.
We do employ cookies. A cookie is a small text file that our Web server places on a user’s computer hard drive to be a unique identifier. Cookies enable Hearts Unlimited to track usage patterns and identify any illegal activities which may take place on the site (hackers and spammers). Our cookies do have an expiration date. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.
Part II. Information Usage.
The information collected by Hearts Unlimited will be used for contacting our members and providing advanced search possibilities within the membership sites.
Registered users will receive additional announcements from us about products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to opt out from these types of communications.
The information we collect will not be used to create customer profiles based on browsing or purchasing history. We will not supplement information collected at our Membership site with data from other sources.
We do not share data with any third parties!
Please know, however, that in certain situations or circumstances, such as repearedly violating the site’s Terms of Service or in any illegal activity, Hearts Unlimited may cooperate with law enforcement, as well as your Internet Service Provider or similar organization.
We offer links to other Web sites. Please note: When you click on links to other Web sites, we encourage you to read their privacy policies. Their standards may differ from ours.
Our Membership site offers free downloads, personal advertising, free downloads advertising, private messaging, public profiles, blogging, forums and a conference room. Please be advised that information posted in these venues with exception of private messaging becomes public knowledge to all our members. Free download advertisements become public knowledge to site visitors as well.
If our policy on information collection or uses changes, will advise you by posting a special alert on your membership home page and sending out an email announcement.
Part III. Access to Information
Users may access and change their own personal information at any time by accessing the membership area. Users may delete their information from our database by deleting any entries they posted or deleting their account.
Part IV. Problem Resolution
If problems arise, users may contact Hearts Unlimited through our Customer Support. We are committed to resolving disputes within 48 hours if possible.
